Institute of Cost and Management Accountants (ICMA) Pakistan has renewed its partnership with Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (AACA) UK to foster professional excellence in accountancy, reported Daily Times.

The renewed agreement reinforces existing reciprocal exemptions for fellow members of the two bodies.

ICMA president Ghulam Mustafa Qazi said: “This renewed partnership reaffirms our shared vision of empowering finance professionals with global credentials and enhancing cross-border mobility for our members.”

It also expands collaborative efforts in continuing professional development (CPD), joint research, advocacy for global standards, and knowledge sharing, stated the publication.

These initiatives also aim to support the development of the accountancy profession in Pakistan and globally.

The partnership, which was initially established in March 2020, aims to create a framework for cooperation focused on enhancing the profession through integrated governance, shared expertise, and inclusive thinking.

One key initiative under the partnership has been the creation of a pathway programme enabling reciprocal membership between the two bodies.

Eligible ICMAP members can apply for ACCA membership upon completion of ACCA’s Ethics and Professional Skills Module and the ICMAP Pathway Exam, a four-hour assessment covering technical and professional skills.

ICMA strategic board chairman Zia ul Mustafa Awan said: “This renewed Strategic Partnership Agreement with ACCA reflects our continued commitment to global collaboration and professional excellence.

“Building on the foundation laid in 2020, the partnership has advanced mutual recognition, strengthened member pathways, and fostered impactful capacity-building over the past five years.”
