The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has released the results of the Chartered Accountants Intermediate and Foundation examinations conducted in January 2025.  

A total of 178,644 candidates appeared for the CA Intermediate exam across 536 centres. 

Deepanshi Agarwal from Hyderabad, Telangana has achieved the top position in the CA Intermediate January 2025 exams with a score of 521 marks, representing 86.83%.  

The second and third positions were secured by Thota Somanadh Seshadri Naidu from Vijayawada and Sarthak Agrawal from Hathras, with 86% and 85.83%, respectively. 

The Intermediate Course examination was held over six days, with Group I exams on the 11, 13, and 15 January, and Group II exams on the 17, 19, and 21 January. 

Of the 108,187 candidates who appeared for Group I, 15,332 passed, the ICAI said.   

In Group II, 80,368 candidates appeared and 17,813 passed, while a total of 48,261 candidates sat for both groups, with 6,781 passing them. 

The Foundation Course examination took place on the 12, 16, 18, and 20 January, with 120,609 candidates admitted across 533 centres.

Recently, the ICAI implemented a number of disciplinary actions against its members in the current financial year.   

A total of 241 chartered accountants faced penalties, an increase from the 119 disciplinary actions taken in the previous year.
