The Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) has unveiled a new Certificate in AI Fluency to equip accountants with the necessary skills to harness Generative AI in finance.
CA ANZ group executive of education and marketing Simon Hann emphasised that the certificate helps accounting and finance professionals to stay competitive in rapidly evolving workplaces.
Hann added: “The Certificate in AI Fluency exemplifies the dynamic professional development and training initiatives CA ANZ is creating to empower our members and finance professionals to embrace Gen AI.
“This critical technology is helping augment their key skills, including problem-solving, critical thinking, adaptive mindset and ethical oversight.”
The curriculum for the certificate was co-developed by AI and technology adoption expert Inbal Rodnay, and Deloitte Centre for the Edge chief edge officer Peter Williams.
Rodnay said: “Developing AI literacy is the single most impactful thing that any professional can do today for their career, team and business. The certificate is a perfect starting point.

In March, CA ANZ secured approval for its new Professional Standards Scheme (PSS) by the Professional Standards Councils.
The PSS, which is recognised across all Australian states and territories, aims to bolster consumer protection by raising professional standards and mandating professional indemnity insurance.
The Professional Standards Legislation grants CA ANZ members in public practice the benefit of statutory capped occupational liability, provided they adhere to the enhanced standards set forth in the PSS.
