PCAOB chairman Demetrios Logothetis, who was selected in February this year, said: “I am pleased to welcome Kyle to the PCAOB.
“His deep expertise and extensive experience will be invaluable as we advance our efforts to modernise the PCAOB and strengthen its role as a durable regulator prepared to meet the opportunities and challenges of the next 25 years and beyond.”
Before joining the PCAOB, Hauptman served as chairman of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).
He was initially appointed by US President Donald J. Trump and confirmed by the US Senate as an NCUA Board Member in December 2020, before being elevated to NCUA chairman in January 2025.
Prior to his tenure at the NCUA, Hauptman worked as an economic policy adviser to Senator Tom Cotton and as staff director for the Senate Banking Committee’s subcommittee on economic policy.
His earlier career also includes roles at the American Enterprise Institute, Jefferies and Co., and Lehman Brothers.
Hauptman said: “I’m honoured to join the PCAOB and look forward to working with my colleagues to strengthen the capital markets.
“Of particular interest will be the technological changes that are transforming both the audit industry and the PCAOB itself.”
Last month, PCAOB initiated a public consultation on proposed goals and objectives for its strategic plan covering 2026–30. The comment period will remain open until September 4, 2026.
