The UK Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has
appointed Peter Montagnon as its senior investment adviser.

Montagnon will help provide input into the
development of the UK corporate governance code and the new
stewardship code for UK investors.

Montagnon was most recently director of
investment affairs at the Association of British Insurers (ABI).
FRC chief executive Stephen Haddrill also joined the regulator from
the ABI.

Prior to joining the ABI in 2000,
Montagnon worked at the Financial Times.

He is a member of the European Corporate
Governance Forum, a past chairman of the International
Corporate Governance Network and a visiting professor at the UK’s
Cass Business School.

The FRC is the UK’s independent regulator
responsible for promoting confidence in corporate reporting and
governance.
