Steven Richards has been appointed a member of
the US Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB).

In his new role Richards will act as a special
adviser to PCAOB chairman James Doty.

Richards previously served as Enforcement
division assistant chief accountant at the US Securities and
Exchange Commission (SEC), from 2004 to 2008. He was responsible
for investigating a variety of high profile matters involving
complex technical accounting, financial reporting and disclosure
issues, as well as the evaluation of the adequacy of procedures
performed by independent auditors.

Most recently Richards was managing director
in the forensic and litigation consulting segment of FTI Consulting
where he assisted boards, special committees and trustees with
fact-finding accounting investigations, involving SEC enforcement
and financial reporting issues.

He was also a key member of the forensic
investigations team in the Bernard Madoff case.
