Paul Eagland takes over as managing partner of BDO UK

Paul Eagland has been appointed as the new managing partner of BDO UK.

Since joining BDO 29 years ago, Eagland has held a number of high profile roles including Head of National Tax, Head of National Audit and Head of National Professional Services.

The transactions completed in the months of July and August were mainly from domestic deals, which more than doubled in value year on year, states the report.  Other sectors that saw strong activity this year include the retail, consumer, leisure, and financial services sectors. “The sectors thought likely to be most impacted by Brexit,” the report read.

Barclays in partnership with Xero

Barclays has partnered with Xero, an online accounting software vendor.

The partnership will give small businesses access to their transaction data through a direct feed set up by Xero.

“Xero enables UK small businesses to access quick, reliable financial information through Xero’s live data feed and bridges the void between businesses and world-class financial services,” Jonathan Ashton, managing director and head of digital client access at Barclays Corporate said.
