The Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA)
has elected Datuk Mohd Nasir Ahmad as president for two years. He
succeeds Abdul Rahim Abdul Hamid, who has been elected
vice-president of the institute after deciding to return to the MIA
council only recently.
Datuk Mohd Nasir has been an MIA member since
1985 and was the former chief executive of Perbadanan Usahawan
Nasional Berhad, an organisation that helps Malay
entrepreneurs.
“There are various developments affecting the profession which
must be addressed swiftly. I look forward to the full cooperation
of the council, the management and members of MIA, in taking the
Institute on the path of greater heights,” Mohd Nasir said.
