IThe International Federation of Accountants
(IFAC) and global IT membership organisation ISACA has developed
guidance for companies to help gain more value from XBRL through
effective implementation.

The paper Leveraging XBRL for Value in
Organisations is a response to the increasing use of XBRL for
both external and internal reporting by organisations around the
world, IFAC said.

IFAC’s Professional Accountants in Business
committee chair Roger Tabor said many organisations have not yet
realised how beneficial XBRL can be.

“This paper can serve as a starting place to
integrate XBRL and help organisations leverage its value,” he
added.
