The UK Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has appointed
Elizabeth Corley and Nick Land as non-executive
directors.

Land is currently audit committee chairman of the
Vodafone Group and Alliance Boots.

Land was also the UK chairman and chief executive
of Ernst & Young from 1995 to 2006.

Corley is the chief executive of Allianz Global Investors Europe.

FRC chairman Baroness Hogg
said Corley will improve
FRC’s insight into the needs of
institutional investors as it continues to gain international
support for the Stewardship Code.

“Corley’s European experience will be
particularly important as we negotiate with Brussels on corporate
governance issues in the coming year,” Hogg said.

Hogg added that Land’s experience as an audit
committee chairman and senior independent director will be
particularly valuable as the FRC responds to proposals in the UK
and Brussels on the future of corporate reporting and audit.
