The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) announced it will appoint five members to its accounting council.
The accounting council are responsible for advising the FRC on financial reporting standards, monitoring international financial reporting developments and providing strategic input and thought leadership in the field of financial reporting.
The new members are:
– BDO technical standards group director Anthony Appleton
– GlaxoSmithKline external reporting director Chris Buckley
– Allianz Global Investors managing director and head of equity research Europe Gunnar Miller
– Investment Management Association corporate governance and reporting director Liz Murrall
– Deloitte UK senior accounting technical partner and national head of accounting Veronica Poole.
In addition the FRC also announced the establishment of its UK GAAP technical advisory group. The group will provide advice on accounting and related company law to the accounting council for entities applying UK accounting standards.
