The US Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) has
appointed Angela Desmond as senior director of external
relations.
Desmond previously worked as chief of staff at
the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) from
September 2006 until August 2009 and as a US Federal Reserve Board
(FEB) official.
Desmond is also the former general counsel of
the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board and was a branch chief at
the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
“Angela’s expertise at the intersection of
auditing issues and financial policy will be instrumental in
shaping the CAQ’s strategic vision,” CAQ executive director Cindy
Fornelli said.
“She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and
experience with public company auditing and a demonstrated ability
to collaborate with our many stakeholders on issues of mutual
importance.”
