The Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF), the
oversight body of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB),
has appointed Robert Stewart as vice president of communications
and Grace Hinchman as vice president of government affairs and
external relations.
“We’re making these changes to help us better
fulfil our strategic commitment to our relationships with investors
and all of our stakeholders and to better communicate to them the
goals, priorities, and activities of the FAF,” FAF president and
chief executive Teresa Polley said.
Stewart worked for 12 years as a reporter
and Washington correspondent for the Los Angeles Times and was
previously senior vice president of financial services at The Wade
Group, a public affairs and communications agency.
Hinchman spent nine years at Financial
Executives International and joined the FAF in 2009. She will
develop and execute strategies to further strengthen FAF’s outreach
to these and other stakeholders and, working with the
communications team, keep them informed about the important work of
the FAF, FASB, and Government Accounting Standards Board, the FAF
said.
