Teresa Polley has been appointed president and
chief executive of the US Financial Accounting Foundation
(FAF).

FAF is an independent oversight body dealing
with the administration and finances of the Financial Accounting
Standards Board (FASB), the Governmental Accounting Standards Board
(GASB) and their advisory councils.

Polley who has been FAF president since 2008,
has helped boost the Foundation’s outreach to investors, establish
partnerships with professional accounting organisations to address
issues in private-company financial reporting and achieve permanent
funding for the GASB.

Polley was previously FASB advisory group
executive director, acting as the primary liaison between the board
and its constituent organisations that provide input into its
decision-making processes. She joined the FASB as a technical
associate in 1987 and also served as FAF controller from
1990-1999.
