Glenn Rioux has been appointed as the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada’s (CPA Canada) vice-president.

Commencing 1 June, Rioux’s responsibilities will include "administering the relationship between CPA Canada, which supports the development of Canada’s accounting and auditing standards, and the boards and oversight councils."

Until that time, Rioux will continue his position as a professor of internal audit and corporate governance at the school of management of the Université du Québec à Montréal.

Rioux will take over from Ron Salole, who has retired after 31 years at the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA).

CICA previously merged with CMA Canada to form CPA Canada.
