The Confederation of Asian and Pacific
Accountants (CAPA) has appointed Keith Wedlock from New Zealand as
deputy president.
Wedlock was elected to the CAPA deputy
presidency in May and will serve in that position until September
2011 and then president for the following two years.
Wedlock is a partner of Glendinnings Chartered
Accountants, a practice based in North Palmerston, New Zealand.
He has been actively involved in various New
Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA) committees for
the past 12 years and served as NZICA president in 2006.
The NZICA selected Wedlock as a representative
to the CAPA Board in 2007. Since then, he has contributed to the
development of the strategic plan and work programme.
As deputy president, his first task will be to
chair the strategic and finance committee.
Wedlock said CAPA faces many challenges, but
has the potential to be a powerful advocacy group for the
region.
