Ten companies have become sponsors of the
Global Reporting Initiative’s G4 guidelines.

The Big Four – Deloitte, Ernst & Young,
KPMG and PwC – will also provide support.

The sponsors include aluminum producer Alcoa,
General Electrics, Goldman Sachs and Shell. They for part of the
Global G4 Consortium and will support the updating of
sustainability reporting guidelines.

The G4 will be published in 2013 and is being
developed by GRI’s multi-stakeholder consultation process.

“The next generation of GRI’s Guidelines aims
to enable more companies to provide their stakeholders with robust,
relevant information about their sustainability performance,” GRI
chief executive Nelmarea Arbex said.
