Ken McKenzie has been appointed as chairman of
Australia’s Financial Reporting Panel (FRP).
McKenzie is the chief financial officer of
Coca-Cola Amatil and the chairman of the Australian Securities and
Investments Commission (ASIC) standing committee for accounting and
auditing.
The Australian government has also appointed
three new members to the FRP and reappointed five existing
members.
David Boymal, Roger Cotton and Bill Palmer are
the new members, while Michael Burgess, Allen Craswell, Martin
Fensome, Alfred Rofe and Brigid Curran have been reappointed.
The FRP provides a dispute resolution service
for issues being contested between ASIC and regulated entities
relating to the application of accounting standards and the true
and fair view requirement in financial reports.
