Australian FRP appoints chairman

Ken McKenzie has been appointed as chairman of Australia’s Financial Reporting Panel (FRP).

McKenzie is the chief financial officer of Coca-Cola Amatil and the chairman of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) standing committee for accounting and auditing.

The Australian government has also appointed three new members to the FRP and reappointed five existing members.

David Boymal, Roger Cotton and Bill Palmer are the new members, while Michael Burgess, Allen Craswell, Martin Fensome, Alfred Rofe and Brigid Curran have been reappointed.

The FRP provides a dispute resolution service for issues being contested between ASIC and regulated entities relating to the application of accounting standards and the true and fair view requirement in financial reports.
