Wolfgang Spindler has been appointed chairman
of Germany’s Auditor Oversight Commission (AOC) and will take up
his post in July.
Spindler is the former president of the German
Federal Fiscal Court. He succeeds Volker Röhricht, a former
presiding judge of the German federal court, who has led the AOC
since it was established in 2005.
The AOC is responsible for the public
oversight of the German Chamber of Public Accountants.
The AOC deputy chairman is Kai-Uwe Marten, a
professor of accounting and auditing at the University of Ulm.
