The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has
revealed leadership changes at offices in Scotland, Wales and
Ireland. Andrew Leck joined ACCA Scotland after working for nine
years for the commercial arm of the Chartered Institute of Public
Finance and Accountancy, where he spent the majority of his time as
an active senior manager with the institute’s advisory networks,
providing advice and support on financial and performance
management to public sector organisations.

Leck said: “I am delighted to be joining ACCA at a time when the
membership and reputation is growing in Scotland. I look forward to
engaging with the Scottish members and students to enhance the
services we provide for them and ensure their needs and
expectations are reflected in our strategies.”

Heading the office in Wales, Ben Cottam joined the ACCA after
working for five years as policy manager for the Federation of
Small Business. Cottam believes that the ACCA and its members have
a pivotal and positive role to play in the economic and social
landscape of Wales. He said: “This is a very exciting time of
growth and development for the ACCA in Wales and globally.”

ACCA Ireland welcomes Kevin Kernan as head of the office. His
appointment follows a previous role as director general of
Engineers Ireland, formerly known as the Institution of Engineers
of Ireland. As director general, his achievements included the
development and implementation of the organisation’s strategic plan
and a rebranding exercise. Kernan’s new role at the ACCA will be to
promote engagement with all Ireland members, affiliates and
students, and further enhance the services provided.

Welcoming the appointment of the three new heads, ACCA UK director
Wyn Mears said: “We are fortunate in being able to attract
professionals of such calibre and experience to head our offices. I
am convinced these individuals will continue to build our
reputation and develop new relationships and partnerships on behalf
of ACCA.”
