After his tenure as FAF’s general counsel, Dottori was appointed to the role of vice-president in January 2009 and chief of staff in April 2010.

FAF president and chief executive officer Teresa Polley said everyone at the FAF was "deeply saddened" by the death of their colleague following his fight with cancer.

"Beyond his extraordinary contributions to the work of the FAF, […] we honour Jodi by remembering the life he lived as a man — as a husband, father and friend," she said.

A funeral service was conducted today in Westport, Connecticut, where he was born.

Dottori is survived by his wife, children and parents.
