The Company Director Fundamentals (CDF) programme syllabus covers practical guidance on legal, fiduciary and governance obligations.

ACRA CEO Chia-Tern Huey Min said: “Directors play a central role in upholding governance and accountability across Singapore’s corporate community.

“Through our partnership with SID, ACRA is making practical governance training more accessible, equipping directors to discharge their duties effectively and reinforcing trust in Singapore’s business ecosystem.”

ACRA and SID are designing the course with input from RSM Singapore and Rajah & Tann Singapore. Enrolment is scheduled to open in October 2026.

SID will deliver the training, which is structured as two sequential stages totalling ten modules.

CDF 101 comprises six modules covering core legal, fiduciary and governance duties to establish baseline director competencies.

CDF 201 consists of four fee-based modules offering advanced instruction in areas related to board stewardship, organisational resilience and commercial performance.

Participants who finish the full ten-module curriculum will receive a Certificate of Completion issued jointly by ACRA and SID.

SID CEO Emily Poon said: “Good governance is not just about compliance, it is about making better decisions, managing risk and creating long-term value.

“Through our partnership with ACRA, the Company Director Fundamentals programme equips directors across companies of different ownership structures, sizes and stages of growth with the knowledge and confidence to fulfil their responsibilities.

“Ultimately, capable directors make better decisions, build stronger organisations and contribute to a more resilient Singapore.”
