Ana Martínez-Pina, vice president of the National Securities Market Commission, the Spanish government agency responsible for the financial regulation of the securities markets in Spain, has been appointed chair of the Corporate Reporting Standing Committee (CRSC) of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA).

The CRSC’s main mandate is:

  • work relating to the regulatory developments in the area of accounting and auditing, periodic financial reporting under the Transparency Directive.
  • develop technical advice, guidance and standards.
  • in the area of accounting, coordinating work on enforcement of compliance with IFRS.
