The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has appointed Nilesh Vikamsey as president and Naveen N.D.Gupta as vice-president for year 2017-18.
Vikamsey has been a member of the ICAI since 1985 and has been a council member since 2010, and then served as vice-president between 2016 and 2017. Vikamsey is the senior partner of Khimji Kunverji and Co, HLB International Indian member firm.
Gupta has over 20 years of experience in auditing, banking and finance. He has held various positions especially in the public sector as he was member of the advisory committee constituted by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs of the Government of India between 2006-2009. Subsequently he was nominated by the Securities & Exchange Board of India to be the public director of Delhi Stock Exchange Ltd from 2009 to 2011.
The vice president and president are selected by the Central Council members of ICAI. The members cast their vote to elect the vice president. The vice president automatically becomes the president in the succeeding year.
