Reshuffle at CPA Australia as new board takes over

By Stephanie Wix

CPA Australia has elected a new board following months of controversies leading to the CEO' departure.

Earlier in the year, the disclosure of the pay packets of ex-CEO Alex Malley and other directors on the board put the institute in a tense situation with its members, the media and the public. This followed with the resignation of many directors included Malley.

Peter Wilson has been elected as the new president and chairman of the board with deputy presidents Merran Kelsall and Chin Aik Wong.

The board now has nine new directors elected by the Representative Council of appointed members;

·         Ric De Santi

·         Robyn Erskine

·         Merran Kelsall

·         Helen Lorigan

·         Jon Scriven

·         Rosemary Sinclair

·         Caroline Spencer

·         Peter Wilson

·         Chin Aik Wong

Their terms commence from 1 October 2017 as four of the six current directors will complete their terms or retire at the end of September. Current directors Jim Dickson and Sharon Portelli will stay on until 31 December this year to assist business continuity.
