The US Public Company Accounting Oversight
Board (PCAOB) is forming a financial reporting fraud resource
centre.

The centre will produce information relating
to financial reporting fraud, including accounting and disclosure,
auditing, corporate governance, insider trading, executive
compensation, economic and other environmental circumstances.

The centre is being formed in line with a
recommendation made by the US Treasury Department advisory
committee on the auditing profession.

“We believe the centre’s work will raise the
awareness of the investing public, other regulators and interested
parties of financial reporting fraud,” PCAOB acting chairman Daniel
Goelzer said.

The PCAOB is seeking a director to help set up
operations and activities of the new centre.
