With Asia’s infrastructure sector set to boom over the next decade, the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) has launched the ISCA Infrastructure & Project Finance Qualification (ISCA IPFQ) to meet the sector’s training needs for infrastructure and project finance professionals. The qualification was launched today (17July 2019) at the ISCA Professional Accountants in Business Conference.

Demand for urban infrastructure and services is expected to grow strongly, with infrastructure investments in developing Asia projected to be worth SGD 28.5trn from 2016 to 2030.

The ISCA Infrastructure & Project Finance Qualification is developed by ISCA in collaboration with EY Singapore and supported by Infrastructure Asia, a scheme set up by the Singapore government to promote infrastructure financing and development in the region.

Those who have completed the qualification will be conferred the ISCA Infrastructure & Project Finance Professional Credential (ISCA IPFP Credential). This credential is the first in Asia to be conferred by a professional body.

ISCA CEO Lee Fook Chiew said: “As the national accountancy body, ISCA is committed to keeping the profession relevant by developing our members’ expertise in high-growth areas. The introduction of the ISCA Infrastructure & Project Finance Qualification is in line with the government’s efforts to harness Singapore’s infrastructure development ecosystem and experience in support of Asia’s infrastructure growth. With the qualification, we aim to support the sector’s training needs for skilled talent by providing a pathway for accountancy professionals to specialise in this niche and growing field.”
