The Federal Accounting Standards Advisory
Board (FASAB) has appointed Sam McCall as a new board member.
McCall will serve a five-year term.
McCall was appointed by US Secretary of the
Treasury Timothy Geithner, the director of the office of management
and budget Jacob Lew and US Comptroller General Gene Dodaro.
McCall has more than 40 years’ experience in
governmental auditing, and has been deputy state auditor for the
state of Florida and is presently the city auditor in Tallahasee,
Florida. He has also been vice chair of the International Internal
Auditing Standards Board and a member of the Comptroller General’s
Advisory Council on Government Auditing Standards.
“McCall will bring a unique perspective to the
board in light of his substantial experience in state and local
government and his focus on performance reporting by governments”
FASAB chair Tom Allen said.
“His active promotion of citizen centric
reporting bodes well for federal users of federal financial
statements”.
