The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and the Institute of Accounting, Auditing and Finance (IKAF) in Kosovo have signed a MoU, in an effort to further academic, educational and professional initiatives for both of the organisations.

As part of the partnership, IKAF will begin offering courses and provide materials for the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exam to its members in the region.

IMA’s director of European operations Alain Mulder: “As a global association, we are continuing to expand our network throughout all of Europe. Our partnership with IKAF will aid us in bringing the CMA, the global benchmark for management accountants and financial professionals, to the Balkans.”

The partnership hopes to promote the higher education and professional development of members in the finance and accounting profession.

IMA and IKAF will jointly promote IMA membership and resources, including its CMA certification, and IKAF’s programs.

IKAF’s director Bujar Krasniqi said: “Partnering with IMA is a great achievement that will help our members better prepare for an international career and challenging future, domestically or abroad in management accounting.

“This partnership will contribute to both the future careers of our members and the organisations where they work.”

The MoU was signed by IMA’s president and CEO Jeff Thomson.
