The IFRS Foundation has appointed Darrel Scott as chairman of the SME Implementation Group (SMEIG).
Scott takes the helm of the group responsible for supporting and implementing the international adoption of the IFRS for Small and Medium-sized Entities (IFRS for SMEs).
He is a former member of the IASB’s International Financial Reporting Interpretations Committee (IFRIC) and replaces Paul Pacter whose term expired 31 December 2012.
Next SMEIG meeting will be held on 4 and 5 February 2013 to consider responses to the June 2012 Request for Information: Comprehensive Review of the IFRS for SMEs and to develop recommendations for the IASB on possible amendments to IFRS for SMEs.
