The Institute of Certified Public Accountants
of Singapore (ICPAS) has appointed Lee Fook Chiew as chief
executive.

Chiew has previously held various senior
positions in the private and public sector with his most recent
role being chief financial officer and senior director of corporate
development at Infocomm Development Authority (IDA).

Chiew will lead ICPAS as it plays a key role
in the designing and implementation of the Singapore Qualification
Programme (Singapore QP), set to be launched in June 2013.

The rollout of the QP, which will produce
accountants with a globally recognised professional qualification
is part of a longer-term plan to make Singapore a global
accountancy hub by 2020.
