The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will
begin examining the violations of certain clauses in the Chartered
Accountants Act by multinational audit firms, according to Indian
media reports.
The ICAI is said to have told Indian parliament they will begin
investigating as in some cases violations have come to light.
India’s corporate affairs minister Veerappa Moily said there have
been no specific firm violations of any specific clause brought to
the attention of the government so far.
