Arthur Bailey has been appointed vice
president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and
Wales (ICAEW).
Bailey has served on the ICAEW council for 14
years, including three years as chairman of audit and is currently
a member of the ICAEW board.
Bailey beat competition from Ian Davies, Nick
Parker and Nathan Steinberg to take up the postion.
“The last few years have presented us with
significant challenges as well as opportunities. As an office
holder I will seek to provide positive leadership, robust
challenge, as well as support for our executive team and staff, in
order to ensure that we meet those challenges, take opportunities
and achieve our strategic goals.” Bailey said.
Bailey will take office in June and will work
in support of Mark Spofforth who has been appointed be president
for 2012-2013.
