The Institute of Chartered Accountants in
England and Wales (ICAEW) has appointed James Lee as new Greater
China regional director.

Lee will lead the institute’s regional team
and will work with the Chinese Institute of Certified Public
Accountants and Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants
to spur the development of the accountancy profession in Greater
China region.  

In his previous role, Lee was managing
director of G4S North and East China, specialised in international
security solutions.

He was educated at the Royal Military College
in Kuala Lumpur and served as an officer with the Royal Malaysian
Air Force, before qualifying as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant in
London.

Lee said the accountancy profession in China
is developing quickly and there is a growing demand for Chinese
finance professionals with knowledge of international business
practices and standards.
