The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) has appointed William Brooks as its next vice president, starting June 2019.
Brooks, who is currently managing director at consultancy firm Eximus Capital, has been involved with the ICAEW since 2000. He served for nine years as an examiner for the Advanced Case Study and more recently as a member of the Disciplinary Committee.
In 2009/10, Brooks was elected president of the London Society of Chartered Accountants. He is currently a member for London on the ICAEW Council and an elected member of the ICAEW Board.
Brooks said: “I am honoured to have been elected as vice president for 2019/20. Our institute is an organisation to be proud of and I want to see ICAEW operating world-wide and respected everywhere.
“I believe that ICAEW is currently facing three key challenges: trust in the profession, digital changes and global development. We are more than capable of addressing these, but successful outcomes will take effort and time.
“I look forward to contributing further to our endeavours in these areas and I hope that during my time in office I will be able to build on our already strong name.”
