The GRI has launched its simplified Chinese translation of the GRI Standards to meet the growing needs of GRI reporters working in Chinese-speaking regions.?

Sustainability reporting has been an increasing trend in China for at least a decade, according to the GRI, paired with the Chinese government’s commitment to incorporate sustainable development such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in its policies like the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

GRI expects the translation will encourage more organisations in mainland China and other Chinese speaking regions to use the GRI reporting standards.

The translation was conducted in joint effort with Deloitte, EY, Fuji Xerox, New Wide Group, TUV SUD and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in China.
