CPA Australia has issued a Small-to-Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) sustainability report guide, co-developed by the Prince of Wales Accounting for Sustainability project and experts from Australia and overseas.
CPA Australia’s chief executive officer Alex Malley underlined the general profitableness of sustainability reports for SMEs. He described the guide, A Guide for Assurance on SME Sustainability Reports, to help "facilitate services SMEs may not have otherwise been able to access."
He added, the guide indicates CPA Australia’s "wider shift in the accounting profession" and was a statement for more holistic measures of business performance.
Together with the St. James Ethics Centre there has also been a development of an online-tool, Good Business Register, which is also aimed at helping SMEs report on their sustainability practices.
