The UK Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (DBEIS) has begun an initial open consultation on the Competition and Markets Authority recommendations on statutory audit services.

The DBEIS said the consultation period will close on13 September 2019. Following its review of the statutory audit market, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) published its final report on 18 April 2019.

The consultation seeks views on the CMA’s recommendations to improve audit quality, competition and resilience in the statutory audit services market.
