The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) and the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under which the public finance graduates of UPNG will be offered an accelerated route to become CIPFA member.
Under the accelerated route, graduates of the Bachelor of Public Finance and Accountancy (BPFA) with a minimum of five years’ experience in public financial management can automatically enrol as CIPFA member without going through exams.
However, CIPFA will have to ensure that the curriculum and syllabus for BPFA are consistent with its requirements for International Public Financial Management (IPFM) qualifications as well as its membership standards.
