The US’ Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) has appointed Julie Bell Lindsay as executive director, succeeding Cindy Fornelli, effective 6 May 2019. Fornelli will continue through May to aid with the transition.
Lindsay joins from Citigroup, where she was managing director and deputy head of global regulatory affairs.
At Citigroup Lindsay worked to develop the bank’s regulatory policy priorities and strategy, engaging with regulators, international standard setters, and trade organisations.
CAQ governing board chair and Deloitte US CEO Cathy Engelbert said: “Julie brings deep experience in the capital markets and an appreciation for the vital role of the public company auditing profession in our system of investor protection. The Governing Board thanks Cindy Fornelli for her leadership and accomplishments at the CAQ and looks forward to advancing the CAQ’s objectives with Julie at the helm.”
Lindsay said: “Since 2007, the CAQ has established itself as force in public company auditing, thanks to its convening power, its constructive policy engagement and vision for the profession's future. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead the CAQ and to build on this foundation for the benefit of public company auditors, investors, and the capital markets."
