Recruitment projections for the Big Four in
Ireland have returned to pre-recession levels with training
contract positions increasing 36% year-on-year.
The Chartered Accountants Ireland said while
larger practices, such as KPMG, PwC, Deloitte and Ernst &
Young, have the largest numbers of training vacancies other firms
across Ireland are also currently recruiting more graduates.
Of the 3,900 positions reportedly on offer at
the GradIreland graduate careers fair at the Royal Dublin Society,
915 vacancies were with accountancy practices. Five out of the top
eight recruiters were chartered accountancy firms.
“This year’s significant rise in graduate
recruitment indicates that Ireland’s leading financial advisers
predict increased levels of activity to justify greater
recruitment, and this bodes well for the Irish economy into the
future,” Chartered Accountants Ireland president John Hannaway
said.
