The governing board of the African Organisation of English-speaking Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI-E) has appointed Meisie Nkau as CEO taking over from Wessel Pretorius.

Nkau worked as business executive with the Auditor-General of South Africa and is currently the president of the South African Institute of Government Auditors (SAIGA). While Pretorius steps down as CEO, he will continue to provide advisory support to AFROSAI-E until December 2017.

At the same time, AFROSAI-E has also launched a Senior Leadership Development Programme (SLD) for supreme audit institutions (SAI) which aims to improve leadership skills of SAI staff.

Participants come from senior leadership teams from the SAIs of South Africa, Mozambique, Nigeria, Namibia, Kenya and Tanzania.
