The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Certified General Accountants Association of Manitoba (CGA Manitoba) and the Certified General Accountants of Ontario (CGA Ontario) are in talks to further strengthen their relationships.

The three accounting bodies, which have mutual recognition agreements (MRAs) since 2006, said they will seek further cooperation based on these arrangements.

"Partnerships are essential to ACCA and enable bodies to share resources for the benefit of the wider profession, as well as helping deliver benefits for our members and students," ACCA chief executive Helen Brand said.

CGA Ontario executive Doug Brooks said its existing partnership with ACCA is a foundation on which to build additional opportunities for its members.

"A stronger relationship between ACCA and CGA can add value for our members and students, as well as their employers and clients," CGA Manitoba chief executive Grant Christensen said.
