The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has made two appointments to its Governance directorate; Joe Johnson has been appointed as director of professional conduct and Stacey English as the director of practice regulation.

Johnson will direct the delivery of ACCA’s disciplinary process covering ACCA’s students, affiliates, and members while English will direct ACCA’s global monitoring licensing processes covering its members and firms.

Both roles lead global teams that work to enhance ACCA’s brand and reputation and ensure that the organisation, its members and students operate within approved ethical and regulatory frameworks, and in the public interest.

ACCA executive director of governance Maggie McGhee said: “We offer a warm welcome to Joe and Stacey, who each bring considerable high-level experience and leadership in regulatory and legal roles.

“They both possess the skills and knowledge needed for the important work of the talented teams in Governance, who work across a number of disciplines including regulation, licensing, monitoring, and investigations / discipline. All this ensures ACCA continues to work in the public interest to fulfil its Royal Charter and statutory recognition of the profession at a time when trust and public value has never been more important.”
