The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has launched a certificate on IFRS for SMEs.

The certificate, CertIFR for SMEs, has been launched to help finance professionals in examining the fundamental requirements of IFRS for SMEs for the benefit of preparers, auditors and users of financial statements.

"The certificate is available on-demand so it fits around people’s jobs and lives. The course is not just for those who want formal
recognition; if you value the extra knowledge you can just take the course without completing the online assessment," ACCA director of learning Alan Hatfield said.

According to Hatfield, the certificate will also count towards Continuing Professional Development for ACCA members.
