The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (ICPAS) and the Singapore Accountancy Commission (SAC) have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to explore reciprocal membership between them.
The reciprocal agreement would allow ACCA and ICPAS’s members to become members of the other organisation more easily, subject to meeting conditions of the agreement.
SAC chief executive Uantchern Loh said the organisation was pleased to expand its relationship with ACCA, adding "the collaboration is aligned to SAC’s objective of working with local and international communities to drive accountancy excellence in Singapore through talent development, professional qualification, research and thought leadership".
ACCA chief executive Helen Brand said the LoI "underscores our commitment to work closely with SAC and ICPAS to uplift the profession; and expresses our keen interest to enter into a Reciprocal Membership Agreement with ICPAS, under SAC’s oversight."
