The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has appointed Julie Hotchkiss as executive director.

The position of executive director has been newly created and the role consists of being responsible for ACCA’s global human resources, talent and organisational capability.

Hotchkiss joined ACCA in 2014 as customer service director. This involved leading a team to deliver improvements to enhance ACCA’s customer experience. Prior to this she has held senior roles in both the private and public sector.

Hotchkiss said: “I’m thrilled to be taking on this new executive role, aligning our people agenda with ACCA’s overall strategy to be number one in developing the accountancy profession the world needs.

“After all, as a growing organisation, it’s ACCA’s people that deliver this strategy, supporting members, students and our many other stakeholders. So developing and investing in our talent is a must as a leading and dynamic 21st-century employer.”

ACCA’s chief executive Helen Brand commented: “Julie has a deep and keen understanding of ACCA, having joined us in 2014 as our director of customer service. I’m delighted that Julie’s knowledge and skills will now be a key part of our executive team as we formulate our strategy to 2025. It’s a role that demonstrates our commitment to identifying and nurturing our global talent, which is ACCA’s greatest asset.”
