
The IFRS Foundation Trustees have selected Gary Berchowitz, Claire Dusser, and Usman Hamid as new members of the IFRS Interpretations Committee.
Their three-year appointments begin on 1 July 2025, taking over from Lisa Bomba, Jens Freiberg, and Karsten Ganssauge, who retired on 30 June after completing their second terms.
The Interpretations Committee partners with the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) to promote uniform application of IFRS Accounting Standards.
It includes 14 global members with deep knowledge and technical proficiency in IFRS Accounting Standards. IASB member Bruce Mackenzie chairs the committee.
Gary Berchowitz, a partner at PwC, works in the firm’s global corporate reporting unit, focusing on financial reporting for companies outside the financial sector.
With more than two decades of applying IFRS Accounting Standards, he has served multinationals in South Africa, the UK, and the US.

Claire Dusser, a partner at Forvis Mazars in France, offers more than 20 years of financial reporting and auditing experience.
Dusser currently manages the firm’s IFRS specialists and co-leads its IFRS committee for Africa, and actively collaborates with standard-setters and assists clients with the Committee’s agenda decisions.
Usman Hamid, director of group governance and policies at Saudi Aramco, handles technical accounting, sustainability, and financial reporting controls.
Hamid was instrumental in Aramco’s IPO, and its dual listing on the Saudi and London stock exchanges.
The IFRS Foundation sets standards used worldwide for financial reporting that enhance the communication between companies and investors.
It seeks to develop high-quality IFRS Standards that bring transparency, accountability and efficiency to capital markets globally.
