IFRS Foundation Trustees chair Erkki Liikanen said: “The IASB has a diverse range of experience and Florian will provide important investor perspective to the IASB’s standard-setting. His appointment now completes the composition of the board.”

Commenting on his appointment, Esterer said: “Having worked in an advisory capacity with the IASB, I am now privileged to be given the opportunity to support the further development of IFRS Accounting Standards, and to present investors’ varied perspectives on the IASB. I am looking forward to working with the staff and my fellow board members to enhance transparency and accountability in financial markets.”
