Brendan Nelson has been nominated as vice
president of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland
(ICAS).
Brendan qualified as a chartered accountant in
1973 and is a past council member of ICAS, chairing the institute’s
audit committee between 2005 and 2008. He is currently a
non-executive director of RBS, where he chairs the group audit
committee and is a non-executive director of BP, where he sits on
the chairman’s and audit committees.
“It is a real honour for me to receive this
nomination. I have been involved with the Institute for many years
and I know how much good work ICAS does in developing the
profession and maintaining high professional standards,” Nelson
said.
Nelson will become ICAS president in 2013,
succeeding Sir David Tweedie.
